The Order of Christian Funerals : the burial of the dead is a corporal work of mercy (failure to do so is a grave sin). As we bury the bodies (or cremains) of our loved ones, we anticipate with hope the resurrection of the body which received the promise of eternal life at baptism and served the Lord, and now awaits the Resurrection of the dead.
